Big Art For Kirkcudbright

Kirkcudbright is preparing to be the first Scottish town to hold an internationally renowned Sculpture Symposium. Seven sculptors, five Scottish, one German and one Irish from Kirkcudbright's twin town in France, Pont Aven, will be taking part in the event. Between Friday 27th August and Saturday 4th September the artists will be working on large pieces of stone or wood, some starting at two tons in weight, to create new sculptures. The sculptors taking part in Big Art for Kirkcudbright are Marina Weir, Tom Allan, Mike Cairncross, Nils Hansen, Andy Breen, Peter Dowden and Dmitri Broe.
