Last Minute Christmas Shopping

Posted on Thursday, 16 December 2010 01:23PM by Jayne Baldwin
On Sunday 19th December we're opening from 10 am to 5pm to give you a chance to do some last minute Chrismas shopping.
From 12 noon there will also be mulled wine and mince pies to enjoy while you browse through our extensive stock. We have
some fabulous books that would make great Christmas gifts, autobiographies by Michael Caine and even a Meerkat! We have
a selection of wonderful cookery books by Nigella Lawson, Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver. Remember if the book you want isn't
on the shelf you can order it through us and we will do our best to get it in time for the big day. A national book token is always
a great back up idea and we have student tokens where you keep one of the cards so that you can place more money into the
account at any time.

Don't forget our children's section with books, games, cards and puzzles for any age. An antiquarian or hard to find second hand
book makes a unique gift. New for this year are the locally hand crafted decorations, stockings and door stops, just right for
brightening up your home and ringing the changes.

We also have a range of titles published by our sister company GC Books in stock. Ian Devlin's tribute to Kirkcudbright character
John Budgett is new on the shelf alongside the moving memoir 'Part of the Garment' by the late Freda Gordon Hall edited by her son
Kirkcudbright resident Robert Crewdson. 'U Boat! Shipping Losses Along the Wigtownshire Coast in the First World War' by Stranraer
writer Julia C MacDonald is new this year along with the first Gallovidian collection on the life of John Paul Jones.

Our informed and friendly staff are always ready to help with finding the right gift for that difficult relative. Wishing all our customers
a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
